Coaching Registration

Volunteer coaches make our program run and coaches are always needed at all levels. No experience is needed, support will be provided. Help keep our program great! North Andover Soccer regularly has around 1,000 children registered for the program. We are always in need of coaches and assistant coaches to keep this program strong and rosters balanced. In order to help during practices or games, you must be a registered coach with MYSA, have an approved CORI check, and have a current SafeSport and CDC Concussion training certificate.

You can find additional information about the setup of our In-Town GK, G2, and G4 programs in the Coach Handbook below.

Travel coaches for the Select Teams are usually selected in the spring prior to the 5th-grade season. Select Teams are the top team for each grade in the travel program (grades 5 through 8). The coach application process opens in January of that year. Select Team coaches must commit to both the fall and spring seasons and typically stay with the Select Team in subsequent years.
High School GK Coach Information
This will be our 18th season having high school players as assistant coaches and, because of the success of the last 17-seasons with all our high school volunteers, have made our NASA program stronger. The players in the GK program love having high school players as coaches, the parent coaches love having the high school players teach proper soccer foot skills, and the high school players love coaching. It’s a perfect combination and the reason we see the number of high school coaches grow each season.

Being an assistant coach has many benefits:
-
It’s a great way to give back to the community that supported you.
-
You can directly impact and encourage the next wave of NASA soccer players.
-
Volunteering will look great on those college applications.
-
For those who need to acquire volunteer hours for various reasons, coaching GK soccer checks that box for you.
-
The greatest benefit of all is the reaction you will get from your players! Just think back when you were playing GK soccer and what it would have meant to have a high school soccer player as one of your coaches. Your players will hang on every word you say and will want to impress you with the soccer skills that you teach them.

Commitment as a GK assistant coach entails:
-
GK soccer is Saturdays for 1-hour. No mid-week practices.
-
You will be paired with at least 1 adult coach.
-
The season is 8 weeks and is projected to start April 6th and end June 1st (No game on May 25th).
-
Games are at North Andover High School the entire season and teams will play at either 9:00 or 11:00. Teams will play the first 4-weeks in one time slot and the second 4-weeks in the other time slot.
-
When registering, you can choose a specific time slot for the season in which case, you will be assigned a field number or, you can choose to be assigned to a team in which case, you will rotate time slots with your team. Please only register for one option and be sure to confirm an email address you check regularly.
